Porcelain veneers are very thin (0.5-1.0mm) ceramic facings that are placed seamlessly over the front surface of a tooth to improve the colour, shape and size. Veneers are a more conservative treatment than a crown and can often be used as an alternative if the underlying tooth is strong and healthy.
