Porcelain inlays are a more durable and aesthetic alternative to standard tooth-coloured resin restorations. A porcelain onlay covers part or whole of the chewing surface of the tooth therefore strengthening the tooth. Porcelain inlays and onlays are a more conservative treatment than a crown and can often be used as an alternative if the underlying tooth is strong and healthy.
