Page - Discoloured and Stained Teeth
Depending on the severity of the discolouration or staining, there are different options available to correct this. It can often be as simple as a scale and polish.
If the staining is not just superficial and the discolouration is deep, the teeth can be further whitened.
Root canal treated teeth can become dark or deeply discoloured. In these instances internal whitening can bring these teeth back to their original colour.
For very intense discolouration due to antibiotics, decay or old restorations, porcelain veneers or porcelain crowns can mask even the most severe of discolouration.
The case shown below required a combination of tooth whitening, internal whitening and porcelain veneers.
